Join us for a Climate Fresk at St Gabriel's Pimlico!
You can't fix what you don't understand. Luckily, the Climate Fresk turns climate science into a game! Played by over 1.3M people worldwide, this collaborative workshop allows you to understand the essential issues of climate change in order to take action. Based on the IPCC report, you'll learn how the climate functions - as well as the consequences of its disruption. Whether you're a novice or an expert, you'll learn a lot in just three hours. This is how it works: - The workshop is based on a 42-card game. Each card represents an element, a cause or a consequence of climate change. - In teams, guided by facilitators, you have to find the cause-effect relationship between the different components of climate change. Collective intelligence will get you from one deck of cards to the next! - This step-by-step reconstruction provides keys to understanding the complexity and developing an overview of climate change. The workshop is 3 hours and there will be a short break in the middle.
Please arrive on time to get the best out of the workshop, joining in the middle will be very disruptive.
Description
🌍 In 3 hours, “Climate Fresk” is a collaborative workshop that will help you to understand the essentials of climate issues to take action.
👩🏽🔬 The workshop allows novices and experts to discover or deepen their knowledge of this subject. It’s scientific, accessible, serious but fun. The facts are sourced from the most respected scientific publications: the IPCC reports.
✏️ The workshop brings together participants and appeals to the creativity and collective intelligence of the group to reconstruct the causal links that make up the Fresk. A facilitator guides the participants through the workshop, to ensure good communication between the members and to provide additional explanations.
The program:
🔹 Reflection (1h30): discover and link the maps to co-construct the Fresk.
🔹 Creativity (30min): decompress, appropriate the Fresk, and create a team spirit.
🔹 Debrief (1h): discuss your emotions, and explore individual and collective solutions.
💪🏾 And then what? Following the session, you can follow another training to become a facilitator yourself and help raise awareness on the topic!
🎉 This workshop has become the reference tool to enable individuals, schools and organizations to take ownership of the challenge of climate change. Already 1.6 MILLION participants have taken part in a Climate Fresk workshop worldwide!
🍒 Cherry on the cake, it's fun, visual and social!
