Climate Fresk is a collaborative, science-based workshop that helps participants understand the causes and consequences of climate change through a card-based exercise built on the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
In small groups, participants work together to map the cause-and-effect relationships behind climate change, building a shared understanding of how human activities drive global warming and its impacts on societies and ecosystems. No prior knowledge is required, and the workshop is great for both newcomers and those already engaged with climate issues.
Following this, participants will reflect on a question that is increasingly important in Southeast Asia and around the world: How can climate action be both effective and just?
Climate change is a shared global crisis, but its causes, impacts and responsibilities are deeply unequal. Communities that have contributed the least to global emissions are often the most vulnerable to its consequences, while wealth, power and resources shape who can adapt and who bears the costs.
Singapore occupies a unique position within these conversations. As a tropical island nation, we face significant climate risks. At the same time, our high-consumption lifestyle and deep integration into the global economy raise important questions about responsibility, equity and collective action.
Whether you are new to climate issues or already active in the space, this workshop offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding, connect with others, and explore pathways towards a more just and sustainable future.
